Cascara

Cascara

Although cascara comes from the coffee tree, it tastes nothing like a cup of coffee. In Spanish, "cascara" means peel or skin, and it refers to the outer layer of coffee cherries. While some farms repurpose it as fertilizer, cascara can also be dried and processed to enjoy as a fruity tea—with fairly low caffeine content.
